Over the 2009 summer, seven men were the victims of muggings in the Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. Police have linked five of these muggings together and believe the other two may be connected. Police have yet to identify the offenders.
The map below shows where the muggings occurred. Zoom in or out and click on the pinpoints to read additional information about each event. The blue points of interest are occurrences that Police say are linked together. Yellow points are still being investigated and purple points are events that police are unsure if they are related.

In the same time period, several other offenses occurred against victims of the same demographics within this area. All four victims were all men in their early to mid-20s and walking alone. All were confronted on foot from behind by at least four attackers, who were also men in their 20s. The victims were asked for their wallets, then savagely beaten in the head and face. Two of the victims were hospitalized.
